Addie (1 yr. Heeler mix)
Addie has really started to come out of her shell! When she first came into our care she was terrified and didn't want anyone to touch her. Now she's happy, playful, and loves attention! She's still shy around new people, but warms up pretty quickly. Her skin is healing nicely and eventually her fur will grow back. She's already a beautiful girl, but just imagine how amazing she'll look with all her hair back!
Archie (Pit Bull/Lab mix, 4 yrs.)
This sweet lover boy sure is full of kisses! It is so hard to believe how amazingly forgiving these babies are! Someone poured motor oil on this guy in attempt, we believe, to kill off bugs or mites. He came to us with semi burned skin the shade of purple. He is recovering well and has even started to gain fur back! Archie would do best as an only pet in a home with older children.
Benny (9 yrs. Malamute mix)
Benny is around 8-9 years old. He is playful, sweet and good with other dogs.
Billy (1 yr. Pit Bull)
Billy is very loving and playful, but has a lot of pent-up energy from being in boarding. He's been working with a trainer and has been doing really well on picking on basic manners. He needs to be in a home that can give him the time and attention he needs. He loves toys, but isn't destructive with them. He'll sit for his treats and is working on being more patient with waiting. We've even had him around other dogs and he doesn't seem to be aggressive towards them. All he wants to do is play.
Bridget (9 yrs.)
Bridget is a very sweet and laid back cat. She prefers to spend most of the day lounging, but will greet you with a happy meow when you get home. If Julie Andrews were to sing a song about her, sunbeams and eating twice a day would definitely be listed as two of her favorite things.
Bronson (16 weeks)
Bronson is in a foster home and learning how to be a part of a family. He gets along great with kids and other dogs. We're not sure about cats yet, but he's so sweet he would probably just want to play with them. He does have a condition called immune-mediated hemolytic anemia or IMHA. It just means that he won't be able to receive any vaccines as per veterinary recommendation.
Bruno (1 yr. Hound mix)
Bruno came to us with shattered pelvis on the right side after being hit by car. He is recovering nicely in his foster home. He is fantastic with kids, dogs and cats.
Buddy (8 years, Terrier mix)
This handsome, regal gent is Buddy. He is dog and people friendly, but likes to chase cats. He is also almost deaf and would need a family with understanding of the anxieties that can cause in dogs.
Chief (11 yrs.)
Clyde (Shepherd mix, 1 yr)
Clyde had been wandering around a neighborhood for a while. It took several volunteers to finally trap him because he was very skittish around people. He's starting to get used to them now and isn't quite as timid as he was.
We're still running some tests to try and found out why his leg is in so much pain as x-rays came back showing nothing was broken. Hopefully soon he'll be ready for his forever home, but he could use a foster in the meantime while we working to figure out what's going on.
Corey (Lab mix, 3 yrs.)
This sweet guy has a rather heartbreaking story. He was picked up by a good Samaritan after being hit by a car and treated for his injuries, but that's not the heartbreaking part. About a week earlier another dog was hit by a car and didn't make it, but a black dog who had been its companion was seen running off and it's believed to have been Corey.
Faith (5 yrs.)
Faith came back to us recently, because her original adopter had an accident and could no longer care for her. She is very affectionate and well behaved. She gets along with other cats and doesn't mind dogs.
Fawn (Heeler mix, 11 months)
Fawn is doing absolutely amazing! She loves to play fetch, but mostly tug of war. She loves to meet new people, and is excited to meet her forever family!
She is a heeler mix, and around 11 months old.
Garfield (10 yrs)
Garfield is very affectionate and calm. He is FIV positive, but it perfectly okay being around other cats as long as they all get along.
Jude (1 yr. Carolina Dog)
Jude has the absolute sweetest personality! He loves everyone he meets and even likes other dogs! He hasn't been around cats yet, but we'll test him soon. He never lets anything bother him. Even when he still had a prolapse he would still sit, wag his tail, and want to say hi to everyone.
Jumble (Male, Lab mix, 10 months)
Jumble is the absolute sweetest dog and will immediately want to be your best friend as soon as he meets you!
Lily (1 yr. lab/pit bull mix)
Lilly a super sweet and loving girl who's never met a stranger. She just wants to be with her people as much as possible and gets along well with other dogs too.
Marty (lab mix, 7 months)
Marty is a super friendly young guy who has never met a stranger. He was brought into the local shelter with a leg injury including a broken Tibia. So far it's healing well on its own and he doesn't act like he's in any pain at all. Instead he's happy-go-lucky and loves to meet new people and seems really good with other dogs too!
Meatball (female, 1 yr)
Meatball is a sweet little kitty who's had a very rough life. When she was found and brought to the shelter her front right foot was mangled and necrotic and had to be amputated. In spite of everything she's gone through she's still incredibly sweet and will soon be ready for a forever home.
Mini (7 yrs.)
Sweet girl Mini was found very sick as she was barely surviving living out in the cold weather. She has come a long way and is doing really well in her foster home. Her foster mom says "Mini is a sweet little girl that enjoys head scratches and cuddling up next to you in a quiet house. She is FIV+ and requires being an only cat or with other FIV kitties. Mini is dog friendly."
Noel (1 yr, Pit Bull mix)
She's a little shy around new people at first, but warms up pretty quickly. She's very playful and loves to chew so you'd better have plenty of nyla bones or other hard objects she can chew on safely. No stuffed animals, cloth toys of any kind, or rawhide! Basically she's not allowed to have anything that's easily swallowed but hard to digest.
Norman (1 yr. Cattle dog mix)
Norman is a shy guy and will take time to warm up to new people, but he can become affectionate once he knows he can trust you. If you're willing to give him the time that he needs the payoff will be well worth it. He hasn't shown aggression toward other dogs from a short distance, but he would still need to take things slow, same as with people. Norman needs a patient, loving home in order to really come out of his shell.
Pearl (1 yr.)
Pearl is blind due massive head trauma after being struck by a moving vehicle, but she's healing well and is really getting used to her surroundings. She loves to play nibble on fingers and purrs loudly when receiving affection. She likes to sniff everything as that's how she sees now. She's good with other cats as long as they don't mess with her tail. She's currently living in a foster home with a young kitten who likes to pester her.
Piper (1 yr. hound/cattle dog mix)
Piper is very easy on introduction. She isn’t in your face about meeting you, but she is just so sweet once you decide to approach her. If you reach out to make friends, she will decide to be your BFF immediately. Piper is totally cat friendly.
Pippa (pit bull, 3 yrs)
Pippa came to us from the shelter with a badly broken pelvis. Fortunately the broken pelvis was not impacting on any internal organs. Fortunately however the broken pelvis was not impacting on any internal organs. She's with a foster who is giving her lots of TLC while she heals on her own. She's recovering much faster than anyone originally expected and is able to walk around just fine on her own! She is sweet and good with everyone so far she'd make a wonderful addition to your family!
Quinn (Male, 4 yrs.)
Quinn was a stray who had been living on his own for quite a while. The people in the neighborhood where he lived noticed his health steadily declining and contacted us. We were able to capture him and get him in to see a vet. This poor guy had a slew of problems and it's no wonder he was so sick! He's feeling much better now and will soon be ready for his forever home.
Rhubarb (female, 1 yr)
Beautiful Rhubarb was surrendered to the local shelter because she and her sibling allegedly broke a vase. Poor thing also had a deep laceration on her cornea and the eye. She is being treated for her eye injury and will likely to keep the eye, but we don’t know 100%. She doesn’t have any problems getting around. She can run, jump, climb, and play just like any other cat. She is incredibly sweet and playful. She does fine with other cats and dogs.
Rose (5 years, Pit Bull)
Rose has completed heartworm treatment and had her FHO surgery. She is now ready for her forever home! She is very shy until she knows you and prefers women over men. She is dog selective, so may need to be an only dog.
Rusty (Rottweiler, 3 yrs.)
Rusty needs to be an only pet, but he is very affectionate towards people. He has been undergoing training recently to work on his manners, especially on the leash and redirecting him in the presence of other animals. He's been doing great! He will walk beside you with slack in the leash now and doesn't immediately fixate when he sees another dog. He is very intelligent, loyal, and loving. He learns new things quickly and would be a wonderful addition to a family.
Sonic (male, 1 yr)
Sonic had some of the worst wounds and required a few surgeries to get him completely stitched up. With a loving foster home and some laser therapy from the vet he healed up very nicely and his fur is even starting to grow back.
He is very skittish with new people at first, and may even hide for a few days. Give him time, let him adjust at his own pace. He is so adorable and very, very sweet once he trusts you.
Tucker (Am. Bulldog mix, 8 yrs.)
He's very outgoing and has never met a stranger. He gets overly excited around smaller animals and would probably do well in a home without cats or small dogs. He really enjoys going for walks and knows basic commands like "sit" and "shake."
Tux (Male, 10 yrs)
Tux used to be a house cat. He had a home of his own and people he loved. Sadly when they moved out several years ago they left him behind and he's been on his own ever since. He is FIV+ and so will need to remain as an indoor cat for the rest of his life. He can be around non FIV cats as long as everyone gets along well. He's an older guy and would do well in a somewhat quiet environment where he can take all the time he needs to recover and get used to his new home.
