Why Euthanize Animals?
Why can't animal shelters and rescue groups just keep animals that aren't adopted? Isn't that kinder than killing healthy animals?
We don't think so.
Dogs and cats need the care and companionship of people. Most clinics and shelters cannot afford to feed and care for millions of unwanted animals.
Even if shelters could keep them forever, these animals would still be alone - and lonely. It is stressful and cruel to keep animals in cages day after day, waiting and hoping for attention.
Animal Aid is trying hard to reduce the pet overpopulation problem in Tulsa. That's why we encourage and support spay/neuter programs in the area like Spay Oklahoma.
But, until our society decides to respond to the reality of pet overpopulation, many millions of pets will continue to die every year in this country. We at Animal Aid cannot fix the problem without your help. Please, spay and neuter all your pets, and encourage your friends and family to do the same.
